Although they lack the fuel stores necessary to travel between planets, the Mule-class tugs are ideally suited for close orbital work. When an ironclad suffers sufficient propulsion damage that it cannot move using its own power, a tug crew attaches ropes or metal cables to the damaged ship, allowing the wreck to be hauled away.
